Changing the wallpaper on your computer or phone is soooooo much easier with Digwallpapers. We have great collections of wallpapers in all styles. 4K resolution is 2160 pixels tall and 3840 pixels wide, but someone decided that “4K” sounds better than “3850K” so there you go. It’s a happy new era for photographers, gamers and those of us who spend our days working in visual arts like wallpaper. We’re very enthusiastic about our 4K collections and will be constantly expanding them like collection of landscape backgrounds. However, if you don’t yet have a corresponding monitor and you want one of our 4K wallpapers, go ahead and try it; it will probably look amazing on your desktop.
Full HD is the next step in sharpness after HD, cramming even more pixels into the given space at 1920 wide by 1080 tall. Why do pixels matter? Pixel density becomes more of an issue when you’re wanting a bigger display. A snapshot that looks amazing on your phone screen, for example, may begin to look fuzzy and degraded if you try to make a poster-sized print of it. But the truth is that we’re living in an era of unprecedented sharpness, so don’t feel that you’re missing out or left behind if you don’t have the latest and greatest monitor.
This question can usually be reworded to “which is better, 4K or HD?” and the answer is 4K. While there’s nothing wrong with HD, if you’re looking for the sharpest, most pixel-packed image, 4K is the path. If you need the numbers, an HD image is 1280 pixels wide and 720 pixels high, while a 4K image is, of course, getting closer to four thousand pixels on the wide side at 3840 x 2160. The good news: in terms of our wallpapers, they’re all beautiful, sharp and waiting to enhance your screens, so don’t let the lack of a 4K monitor in your life stop you from trying them out.
8K resolution gives you around twice the number of pixels as 4K: 7680 pixels wide by 4320 tall. However, in the absence of 8K content, an 8K monitor is just a 4K monitor that took a bigger chunk out of your budget, speaking of numbers. We find that 4K more than fits most people’s sharpness needs, although that may change as more 8K content arrives.
Yes, it is! That said, we have so many gorgeous wallpapers in our Phone collections that you probably won’t need to venture into the desktop collections to spiff up your phone’s screen. However, if you have found an exquisite desktop wallpaper that’s calling your name, go ahead and install it. What will happen is that the outer edges will be cropped out. But there’s always a part of the installation process where you can move the image around to your liking, so you should be able to make it sparkle and shine on your phone screen even if it was originally intended for a desktop.
